Raffy

Raffy learned about Calisthenics in 2013 when he chanced upon a YouTube channel named ‘Bar Brothers’ that posts videos demonstrating remarkable physicalities. It gave him inspiration to venture into the world of Calisthenics, to explore and challenge the limits of his own body. He is most notable for his performance in executing the Planche and the advanced variations of it. 3 years into training, Raffy decided to take his abilities to the test and competed in the Asia Street Workout Championship in 2015 and claimed a silver medal in the Freestyle category. In his years of training, he began to develop a strong interest in helping others reach their Calisthenics goals. Raffy became one of the early members of the Street Workout Curricular Activity Club at Republic Polytechnic.

It was a platform where he was able to share his knowledge and conduct sessions for students fond of Calisthenics training. Upon the completion of his National Service, he continued the pursuit of his passion by joining Singapore Calisthenics Academy to coach in 2019. His drive and willingness to help, coupled with his phenomenal Calisthenics skills, have driven and inspired many to learn from him. Raffy believes that optimal training is key to quick progress. In his classes, he ensures that the right progressions of the drill is given to everyone so that they undergo the right amount of physical stress. Seeking challenges in life is a trait of Raffy’s. It is what gives him the motivation to push his limits. He is certain that the obstacles he will run into at the Academy is going to make him better in many aspects and in turn, a better coach.
